Read each name in the Brazilian partner and administrator record alongside its role, company and source reference. The QSA helps explain registered relationships. It cannot, on its own, establish who controls a company, how much each person owns or who can sign a particular contract. Those questions require their own evidence.

Open the lookup and identify the company

  1. Use the company search to find the record by CNPJ or name, then confirm the legal name and establishment.
  2. Follow the record's partners and administrators link. The lookup opens on request; a branch's link leads directly to the company's partner lookup.
  3. Note the source publication and read the roles before interpreting the names.
  4. To check the source, use the Receita Federal's Consultar CNPJ service [1], which includes QSA information. Follow the chosen channel's requirements.

If identification is still uncertain, start with the CNPJ lookup guide. A correctly interpreted ownership record attached to the wrong company still produces the wrong conclusion.

Name and role: ownership and administration

“Qualificação” means the role reported in the Brazilian register, not an assessment of professional competence. A partner or shareholder role concerns an ownership interest; an administrator role concerns management. The sócio-administrador role combines ownership and administration. Preserve the published description instead of replacing every role with “owner”.

The scope of the QSA varies with the entity's legal form. The Receita's table [2] distinguishes the roles recorded for each type of entity. For a Brazilian sociedade anônima, for example, do not treat the QSA as a complete list of shareholders.

A Brazilian limitada may have an administrator who is not an owner. The DREI manual's administration section [3] addresses this possibility and appointment documents. A QSA entry alone does not detail authority for a specific transaction.

A fictional QSA, line by line

Worked example: Empresa Exemplo de Serviços Ltda. The company, people, relationships and dates in this example are invented. The CNPJ mask **.***.***/****-** does not identify a registration and should not be searched.

  • Person A: partner-administrator; recorded entry date 12 April 2021.
  • Person B: administrator; recorded entry date 8 August 2024.
  • Empresa Sócia Exemplo Ltda.: corporate partner; entry date 3 February 2023.
  • Reference publication: September 2026; ownership percentages not reported.

The record distinguishes three entries and their roles. It does not support dividing the capital into three equal shares: Person B was not presented as an owner, and no ownership fractions were supplied. Row order does not establish importance or control either.

What each field supports

The open-data layout [4] separates name, partner type, role and entry date. Its partner file does not include an ownership percentage. The table applies that reading to the example.

Fictional QSA: information, conclusion and gap
InformationSupported conclusionWhat remains unknown
Person A: partner-administratorThe example records ownership and administration roles.Percentage, control and signing authority.
Person B: administratorAn administration role is recorded.Ownership interest and authority for the proposed contract.
Empresa Sócia Exemplo Ltda.A legal entity is listed as a partner. The individuals in the ownership chain and the beneficial owner.
Entry on 8 August 2024This is the entry date attributed to the relationship. All earlier acts, changes and roles.
Missing percentageThe lookup does not report the fraction. The ownership share; missing does not mean zero.

Three cases requiring different checks

The administrator wants to sign a contract

Person B presents themselves as the signatory. Their role helps frame the next question: which documents establish authority for this act? Check the applicable articles of association or appointment document and any rules on representation. Do not assume individual signing authority, unlimited powers or current authority from the QSA alone. The DREI manual [3] is a reference for administration documents of Brazilian limitadas, not a validation of this fictional contract.

Another company lists someone with the same name

You find “Person A” in a second teaching example. Initially record two published relationships, each with its own source. The match does not establish identity. Without sufficient evidence to connect them, preserve the uncertainty instead of merging the people.

The partner is another company

The corporate partner introduces another step in the lookup. Check its identity and, where available, its own record. Do not automatically attribute the legal entity's stake to Person A or multiply ownership fractions that were never published.

Identity requires more context

Matching names, abbreviations and similar spellings do not establish a person's identity. Municipality, role and dates help organize an assessment but cannot, by themselves, resolve a namesake. Do not connect a name to court cases, news or other companies on similarity alone.

dembli's partner lookup shows neither CPF numbers nor their partial digits; protected names may also be withheld. This limitation does not justify reconstructing identifiers or filling fields with assumed data. See the sources and publication limits.

Relationships need a source

For each relationship, retain the originating company, reported role and publication. A connection to a company is not a judgment about conduct, solvency or quality. An unreported ownership percentage remains unknown.

Do not confuse the QSA with beneficial ownership identification. The Receita maintains a separate procedure for that information [5], concerning direct or indirect ownership, control or influence. A corporate partner or listed administrator does not automatically resolve that assessment. This guide does not determine reporting obligations.

Separate dates and record missing information

In the example, entry in 2024, a September 2026 publication and access on 19 October 2026 are different references. Entry describes the relationship; it is not the company's opening date or evidence of a person's entire history. The publication identifies the snapshot consulted, not a real-time check.

An empty list, a protected field, temporary unavailability and a legal form without this record mean different things. Read the message displayed. “Not available in this lookup” does not mean “company without owners”. Discrepancies require checking the source, without arbitrarily choosing the most convenient value.

Registration status is a separate question: the guide to active CNPJ status explains why it cannot replace these checks.

A checklist for recording your findings

  • Confirm the company, establishment and legal form.
  • Preserve names and roles as published.
  • Separate entry, publication and lookup dates.
  • Mark percentages, identities and powers that remain unverified.
  • Connect each conclusion to evidence and define the next check.
