Openings and closures
In November 2025, 360,991 companies opened in Brazil and 204,886 companies closed, a net of +156,105. Of those openings, 271,140 opened as MEI (75.1%).
Compared
Openings fell 18.1% on October 2025 and were 9.2% above November 2024. In 12 months there were 5,004,284 openings, 18.6% above the 12 months before.
How we count
Each company is counted once, by its head office, from the Receita Federal's CNPJ Open Data. A closure may be recorded with a past date: the latest months may still gain closures in later publications.
